Cayenne

Introducing Cayenne!

She is our newest rescue dog and she is settling in well. Cayenne has the same coloring as Red but is about a third of the size of him. However, she plays just as hard and growls all the time when they are rough housing. Now Cayenne and Shiner are still working out some details but I know they will be buds soon. So, Cayenne, welcome to the Taylor family.

"Spikey"

So, Luke wanted the Mohawk look...more like a faux-hawk. Anyway, I think it is kinda cool. But man he looks different, maybe older. Uh-oh, he is growing up. I think I liked it longer and cuter. I know the cute look is not in! Well here are some pics

Luke is 8!

August 25, 2011 - Luke turned 8!!

Good morning birthday boy. Waffle with candle, a favorite!

Luke requested hibachi for his birthday dinner - no complaints here, ha!

Then Luke invited a few friends to go to Hawaiian Falls water park for the day.

All the boys stayed the night...pizza, cookie cake and movies. I think they all had a great time.

Someone has a frowny face...

Breakfast on the patio...

What a birthday! I love you, Luke and look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you.

Melinda's BDay Weekend

I was recently treated to an awesome girls weekend in Austin. My friend, Melinda, decided to take several of us on a trip for her 40th birthday. There were about 16 of us and we all stayed in the W hotel in Austin for 2 nights - Melinda's treat. So nice! I roomed with Maryam which was perfect since we don't get to spend a lot of time together, so it was nice to catch up. And our conversations are always interesting. We decided even bad things sound better when you put a "shma" in front - for example, shmamurder. Right?!? So, Lyndal drove myself, Shannon and Maryam to Austin - and traveling with other girls is nice, you can actually take your time, stop when you want to. We stopped for something sweet and made a stop at Bush's chicken where I got a gallon of tea...of course. We finally make it to Austin for drinks at the W, dinner at Taverna and dancing at the Speakeasy.

I'm sure you can see the progression of the night... I mean we were out until 3am!! There were some new dance moves introduced by Jana - Flashdance and 4th and 10. What a fun night!!

On Saturday we brunched, shopped, had spa treatments and then dinner. The dinner at Uchiko has to be one of my top 5 meals of all time - thanks Melinda.

We had to leave on Sunday (I definitely could have stayed another day or 5, ha!). But before we left, Melinda treated us to brunch at the W.

Such an incredible trip. Oh and I found this jewelers store that I wanted to visit, leighelena. I got a cuff bracelet and consider it my signature bracelet and a great reminder of a fabulous time.

Run, run, run

Luke and Reed participated in the Castle Hills Triathlon this past Saturday. This is the third year for Luke but the first time Reed has participated. This is a wonderful event and the boys had great fun.

Reed got his medal then looked at me and said "I won running, I won swimming and I won biking.". So cute!
