February 2012

The boys start golf lessons with Denise Grider at the Hank Haney Golf Academy in Castle Hills. Love that both boys can go to these lessons together. Luke can really hit the ball - I am so impressed. And Reed is doing pretty well himself.

Big changes at JCP - new CEO and grand new ideas. Keeping my fingers crossed. I love where I work and my co-workers, so here's hoping for no employment changes.

Our annual Super Bowl party was a great hit again this year. Such a great group of friends showing up and enjoyed all the food and catching up. Not many pics taken this year...no clue why not. Here's one of some of the girls on the patio, of course.

Luke's cub scout den (Den 10) went to visit Lewisville City Hall and meet the mayor. They also led the pledge of allegiance to open the council meeting.

And this looks like it might be an annual event - Monster Jam. Oh yeah. Luke went with his friend, Jack Falconer, and his birthday party. Rob, Reed, LaNoel and I went as well. Funny enough, our tickets ended up being just one section over from Luke's group.

Other scout events - Pinewood Derby, canned food drive and Blue & Gold Ceremony (we made a centerpiece for the Mad Science themed event).

The Mavs

So, I have never, seriously never, been to a Mavs game. Football, baseball and hockey are more my games. Anyway, I got tickets and we went via the dart rail. Do I even need to say it - this was probably the most exciting part for the boys.

Dinner in West End

Ready for the game

So the goal for Reed was to catch one of the flipping coupons that the Chili's blimp drops during half-time. Well, guess who did not catch one...

And he was Super Sad! Until a nice lady in the crowd was taken in by the sad face and gave him her coupon. And we have a happy Reed again. Charmed life!

Rob's Birthday, ooh 39!

So Rob turns 39, ouch, right. Of course, until I turn 39 in April when it is yeah 39! It is like the new 29 - hey, my blog, my dreaming...

Anyway, breakfast celebration and then dinner at Texas De Brazil with my parents. The boys, especially Luke, was so excited to take Rob to dinner there.

Then I arranged some guy party time at Main Event. Rob bowled amazingly well. His game must improve with alcohol...ha!

Girls Trip - Austin

So, as good Aggie alumni, a few of us girls have made a tradition of getting together in January for some much needed girl downtime. This is our third year in a row to meet up - this year was in Austin. The first 2 years we met in Houston. Thinking we are on a 2 year rotation schedule. So next year - Austin here we come, again. Anyway, Amy, Karen and I travel from the Dallas area to meet Melissa and Katie (from Houston area) and Anne and Nikki (from Austin area) for a weekend of eating, shopping and catching-up. Mel had a special treat for us this year... Her friend owns a Four Seasons residence in Austin and she let us use it for the weekend. Awesome!! This place was gorgeous. Seriously, everything about it was incredible - the furniture, the art and decor, and the view. So we are set on where to stay and Anne handled the rest of the planning. Dinners, shopping and relaxing...

Don't worry, Katie and I always kiss in public...

Fun with my Saints light-up pen. That was the wall of the fancy restaurant. Hee-Hee.

Great trip. Already looking forward to next year!!

Welcome 2012

Awww...2012! What do you have in store for us?? It is always something new and interesting. Woo-hoo, here we go.

One of the boys Christmas presents was tickets to see Phineas and Ferb Live. Okay, this Disney show is one of our favorites, yes the whole family.

And since the show was in Garland...we went to Catherine and Todd's house for dinner. Good grub and good friends.

I am still participating in 2 book clubs (Maryam's and Cristina's) and meeting Laura, Connie and Jackie for dinner once a month. This is my third year as room mom for Luke. Leigh turned 40 and had a rocking birthday party - limo, dinner at Javier's and dancing at some club that was way too cool for us. So fun! And some sad news - Peggy retired. I mean so happy for her, but really going to miss her at the office.
